So, how long does Adderall withdrawal last? The answer depends on a number of factors, including how long a person has been taking it, the dosage, whether they were prescribed regular Adderall or extended-release Adderall (Adderall XR), and their overall mental and physical health. In general, people who have taken higher doses over a prolonged period tend to experience withdrawal symptoms that are both more intense and longer-lasting. Individuals stopping Adderall XR often have a delayed onset of symptoms, since the medication stays in the bloodstream longer. On the other hand, those who were taking immediate-release Adderall typically feel the effects of withdrawal more quickly, but recovery may come sooner as well. The duration of Adderall withdrawal varies widely from person to person.
